If you subtract the years, the answer looks like 1 year. But the real gap is only 1 day.
Same year, but many months apart
Person A was born on 1 January 2000. Person B was born on 31 December 2000.
The birth-year difference is zero. But the real age gap is almost one full year.
These examples show why the year number alone is not enough.
