Same Birthday but Different Year: Find the Age Gap

Find the age difference when two people share the same birthday but were born in different years.

When two people share the same day and month but were born in different years, their age gap is usually a full number of years.

Simple example

Person A was born on 15 August 1990. Person B was born on 15 August 1995.

The day and month are the same. Only the year is different. The exact age gap is 5 years.

There are no extra months or days in the answer.

Why this is easy to calculate

Each birthday falls on the same calendar date. Moving from 15 August 1990 to 15 August 1995 takes exactly five full calendar years.

You can confirm the result with the Age Difference Calculator.

What about 29 February?

29 February is special because it appears only in a leap year. If both people were born on 29 February in different leap years, the gap can still be a full number of years.

When comparing with a normal year, use a calculator with a clear month-end rule.

Same birthday is not always the same date

In daily life, people may celebrate on the same day even when their official dates are not the same.

For an exact result, use the dates written on reliable records.

Same date in the same year

If the day, month and year are all the same, the date difference is zero. Birth times may still show that one person is older by a few hours or minutes.
