The exact gap between two birth dates never changes. But the difference between two completed ages can look different during the year.
This happens because birthdays come on different dates.
A simple example
Suppose Amit was born on 1 January 1990. Neha was born on 1 July 1994.
Their exact age gap is always 4 years and 6 months.
After Amit’s birthday in January, but before Neha’s birthday in July, their completed ages may look five years apart. After Neha’s birthday, they may look four years apart.
The real gap did not change. Only the whole-number ages changed at different times.
Why this happens
Completed age ignores extra months and days. It shows only the full years a person has finished.
When one person has already had a birthday and the other has not, the two rounded numbers can give a different-looking gap.
